Pet wedding on Rated K!

Did you see Peter on ABS-CBN’s Rated K last Sunday? He was featured there together with his dog friend Shantee. Anyway, their segment was about animal love. And since Peter and Shantee share a peculiar kind of friendship, Rated K “wed” them in a pet blessing event at Manila Zoo last Thursday for their show’s main story.

That’s Peter sleeping while Shantee, wearing a dog wedding gown, throws a tantrum in the background. Shantee likes being the center of attention all the time, but Peter’s content on sleeping Good thing too, because the next events were pretty stressing for an old hamster like him—Peter had to be taken out of his portable cage for filming. The crew even filmed Peter and Shantee giving their paw prints for the “Certificate of Blessing” Rated K provided as “proof” of their “marriage.” Hehe.

Social networking for hamsters

I thought I’ve seen it all with Dogster and Catster. I was very amused to find that my dogs can have their own “online circle of friends,” and now, I’m even more amused to find that there exists a similar networking site for pet hamsters and gerbils: hamsterster.com.

And to think I was skeptical for putting a blog for my hamsters. The creator of this site takes the cake, though it says on the About page that he doesn’t own a hamster. Ah well. Regardless of which, hamster owners have him to thank for giving them a venue to show of their little friends. Thanks, David!
